A 36-year-old man was allegedly driving drunk early Sunday morning when he crashed his car on Interstate I-794 and seriously injured a woman who was a passenger in his car.
The 36-year-old is facing up to 12 1/2 years in prison and more than $1,000 in fines, according toJSonline.com.
According to officials, the crash occurred about 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning when the man drove a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair into a median wall. The woman was not wearing a seat belt and was seriously injured in the accident.
An intial breathalyzer showed the man’s blood alcohol level was 0.18, which is more than twice the legal limit of .08. The results of the blood test were pending.
