One person has died and five were injured in a weekend snowmobile accident.
According to reports, the 45-year-old man was killed when the snowmobile broke the ice on Beaver Dam Lake, which is near Madison. Officials said the snowmobilers were heading north on the lake when they hit open water. Some of the people were pulled out by witnesses before additional help arrived.
The accident is under investigation by both the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office.
