A mother of two young girls has been charged in an accident that killed one of them and critically injured the other one.
According to reports, a 27-year-old from Milwaukee was driving about 2 a.m. when she slammed into a parked semitrailer.
Her 10-year-old daughter was killed in the crash. The daughter had been riding in the passenger seat of the car. The driver’s 5-year-old daughter was critically injured in the crash.
Officials said the driver had a blood alcohol level of 0.107 and may have been distracted by the five-year-old at the time of the crash.
The driver has been charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle and causing death while driving on a suspended license. She is being held at a county jail and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
