WI Man Faces Homicide Charge, Reckless Driving After Hitting 10 Motorcyclists

A Wisconsin man is facing criminal charges after an accident where officials said he crossed the center line and struck 10 motorcyclists, killing two of them.

Twenty-five-year-old Clinton Lovelace of Hilbert, Wis. has been charged with second-degree reckless homicide, three counts of second-degree reckless injury, one count of reckless endangerment and a count of bail-jumping. Officials said on May 31, Lovelace was driving on Highway 151 in rural Fond du Lac County when he is believed to have crossed the center line and striking the motorcyclists.

A 59-year-old man from Michigan was killed in the crash. A 43-year-old man died on Thursday. Seven other motorcyclists were injured and two of those suffered serious injuries.

He was charged before the death of the second man, so additional charges may be forthcoming.

Officials are investigating if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash. He is being held at the Fond du Lac County jail.
