A woman and her son were both killed early Sunday morning in separate accidents in West Allis.
According to reports, the 45-year-old woman was lying in the road on S. 81st St. when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver about 1 a.m. More than four hours later, about 5:30 a.m., her son died in an accident after getting word about his mom’s accident and heading off to see her.
Officials said the 22-year-old son was a passenger in a vehicle that was speeding and hit three parked cars while making a turn. The vehicle overturned and he was killed. The driver of that vehicle wasarrested for OWI and both the driver and at least one passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
