An allegedly drunk mom got into a crash with her daughter in the car just east of Windsor Wednesday evening.
According to reports, the 49-year-old woman from Columbus was driving east on State Highway 19 about 10 p.m. when she crossed the center of the road, forcing three oncoming vehicles off the road. Two of the vehicles were not damaged, but the woman allegedly sideswiped a third one, which rolled over and came to rest upside down off the side of the road.
The driver of the third vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital and treated with serious injuries. Officials said the woman’s four-year-old daughter was in the back of the vehicle and was not in a car seat or booster seat at the time of the crash.
The woman was arrested and booked in the Dane County Jail. She was cited for numerous violations including OWI – 1st offense and having an unrestrained child in the vehicle. The child was released to her father.
